Assignment Overview

After reading through the short descriptions of each weekly assignment, I am excited to begin this class. As a pre-law students, I obviously have a passion for reading and writing. Each aspect of this class will develop my skills as a writer, but it will also be enjoyable along the way. My formal writing skills have not been used in this class so far (due to the casual nature of the blog topics), but I feel as if those will be expressed while completing the reading assignments.

I do have a small concern: creativity. Sometimes, I slightly cringe when I read the word "project" because I am extremely dry when it comes to my creative abilities. When others give me a specific topic to write about, I am thrilled to do so (and I am actually pretty good at making others' writing sound much more sophisticated and more in-depth). However, making up fictional stories might be difficult for me, and I really don't like trying to come up with something "off-the-wall."

In spite of that, I love to blog about events and activities going on in my own life, and I also love to share with others from my own experiences. I have considered beginning a blog for my close family and friends to read when they have the time (I have quite a few entries saves on my personal computer), but I have always been too intimidated by the design and technology aspect of creating a blog. I have a feeling that after the conclusion of this class, I will be able to possibly create my own blog and finally post my entries. The Growth Mindset, HEART, Famous Last Words, and Extra Reading assignments will be my favorites because they deal with a more realistic part of my life. I also am very interested in personal improvement and growth (Pinterest and self-help books are my favorite items to read), so each of these assignments will help me with my personal goals as well.

I just finished this book recently, and it was a great personal growth book that changed my mindset from becoming a leader in accomplishment to becoming a leader in influencing others.
