My Favorite Place: Possum Kingdom Lake

My favorite place is located in North Texas and flows from the Brazos River. Every time I visit Possum Kingdom Lake, I seem to go back in time to my childhood. My family has had a house and a Cobalt boat on this lake for many years, so I look forward to each summer here. PK is a place my family and I can escape from the business of work and school; I mainly love this place because it is a location where my family becomes disconnected from the world and connected to each other.

Early mornings on the lake are my favorite time at PK. Before the sun rises, the water is as smooth as glass, so my dad and I wake up and get out on the water. Sometimes we have an early morning swim and eat breakfast in the middle of Hell's Gate (pictured below), or he would drive the boat while I water-skied.

When my life becomes chaotic and stressful, I send my mind back to Possum Kingdom and I think of the memories I have made there.

  1. I should put together a collection of lake places from people's posts, Leigh: you have Possum Kingdom Lake (which is such a seriously great name!), and there have also been Lake Eufala and Lake Hefner posts so far. I have a huge stack of places post to read through now, so I will be on the lookout for more lakes!

For links, it's a good idea to create an actual text caption, and then use the http to make the link, like this:

So give that a try in your next post: seeing the URL doesn't really tell people about the image does, but using some kind of link text does.
