1.
Section 1
-
Ayodha is the beautiful capital city of Kosala,
ruled by king Dashartha
-
He was a good ruler, everyone was happy and
followed the rules of the Brahman priests
-
King Dashartha had no son to succeed him to the
throne, so he performed a horse sacrifice
-
The chief queen Kausalya gave the fatal blow to
the horse gifts were given to all the Brahmins
-
From this, Dashartha was given 4 sons, one (Rama
with half of the god Vishnu)
-
Ravana is introduced and began to hate Rama from
the beginning
-
Rama was requested to go battle and obtained the
bow of King Janaka
-
Rama then met Sita and fell in love with her. He
broke this bow and then won her hand in marriage from her father by doing so
-
They had a gorgeous wedding and many other
princes and princesses joined them in getting married
2.
Section 2
-
King Dashartha was growing old, so it was time
for Rama to take the throne
-
He was ill and had some bad omens and dreams
-
Rama’s nurse as a child hated him, but ends up
loving him like her own son
-
The queen became jealous of Rama and wanted to
banish him from the kingdom and everyone was very distraught. Especially the
king
-
He left Adoydha into the jungle
-
In the jungle, Sita was carried away by a demon
Viradha but they defeated him
3.
Section 3
-
The sister of Ravana saw Rama in the forest and
fell in love with him and attacked Sita
-
Sita cut off her nose and ears
-
Maricha, a hermit, turned into a golden deer so
he could lure Rama and his brother into hunting him
4.
Section 4
-
Ravana captured Rama and Sita and Lakshma went
looking for him
-
He wanted to marry Sita and take her away from
Rama
5.
Pururavas and Urvashi
-
Urvasi was one of the nymphs of heaven and
Pururavas was an old famous king
-
Urvasi fell under a curse, and the king broke
her of it
-
They fell in love and married happily
-
She then became jealous and unhappy, she went
away to get some space
-
He began searching for her full of sorrow, but
then ran into Gandharvas and ultimately received a boon
-
He wished to never be departed from his love
-
They say Pururavas is the sun and urvasi is the morning
mist, happily reunited in the end
