Indian Epics and Analysis

Looking back at my overall progress, I have noticed that I have everything turned in in order to receive an A in this class. I sent in an original schedule at the beginning of the semester, and I have followed it some, but I haven't stuck to a strict plan for this class. I know myself well enough to know that I am very disciplined, and I will do whatever it takes in any class to make the grade I desire. In order for that to happen, I have made this class work around all my others (due to the great flexibility of this particular class). I also know myself well enough to know I enjoy planning, so I know all my work for the class will get done before the deadline. Of course, there have been times when I have a mistake in my plan and forget things, but I have acquired every point I need in the class for a perfect score so far. This is my favorite meme because I want to eventually get to the end of the road with my project Cheezburger As I look through my comments on my “Comment Wall” for my project, it was encouraging to see how in-depth my classmates have read and evaluated my work. All of my comments had something positive in them, and that helped me take the criticism and suggestions in a better way. I had two comments on my wall, and both of them were full of helpful tips. First, both were happy with the name of my blog and loved the overall design (which is great because I was very new to making a website and am not very creative). However, I wish more advice or suggestions on how I could better my website from a student’s perspective. One comment had a small sentence about giving more detail to the character’s personality and experience, so I will add that in the next few stories. It was so nice to look back on this class and realize how much work we have actually done. Because each story is broken down into smaller pieces, it seems as if we have not read as much as we actually have. Each Indian Epic was so much richer and fuller than I expected, and each plot line was extremely complex. Of all the stories so far, I have enjoyed the Jatakas the most. Although these stories are not the ones that relate to the Indian Epics, they are fun to learn about because of their fairytale-like structure. Because I liked each of these short stories, I chose to write my project on them. Learning more about the purpose of the Jatakas and their lessons of Dharma has made this class very interesting! My favorite image that I have found is one of the Jatakas: it is the Turtle and the Geese. This story was used in my final project, and I retold the story from the perspective of Yama.
